School screening programmes, Free Annual Eye screening programmes at Divine Light School at Whitefield and community eye screening programmes at the community health center at Tumkur are some of the other work done by the department. 

Surgeries conducted by the department are - 

• Phacoemulsification (microincision) cataract surgery with foldable intraoccular lens implantation.
• Antiglaucoma surgery
• Squint surgery
• Dacryocystectomy and Dacryocystorhinostomy.
• Repairs of conjunctiva and corneal tears
• Other minor surgical procedures.

A phacoemulsification unit with vitrectomy  and operating microscope is available for conducting surgeries.
