Rev. S. Vasanthakumar

FROM THE MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT’S DESK:

Dear Friends,  Greetings ! A NEWS LETTER from our Institution has been a long felt need.  We are very happy that the first issue is published. We are sure that this media of communication will be used well and for better communication between the departments, apart from informing you all of the special events and happenings in our Institution.

It is also hoped that academically, recent advances in various disciplines will be published for the information of all.

May God bless our efforts and help us fulfill His Mission through the Healing Ministry of our Diocese. – Dr. Helen P. Samuel

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR’S DESK:

Friends, one must dare to dream even if small.  We wanted to start a newsletter and sought the help of all team members to select a title.  We received a few replies but could not proceed for various reasons.  The idea did not die but was shelved temporarily.  Say hello to Mrs. Asha John our Public Relations Officer who felt it expedient to start a newsletter. The small dream has come true with this first issue.  The main purpose of this newsletter is to communicate, to tell one and all what we do in our Hospital.

For starters in November we started the concessional package for  Heart Check-up, at just Rs.750/- .  As a special case the reports are made ready while you wait (within two and half to three hours) and consultation with the doctor, can take place immediately thereafter.  We are here to serve you.

We have installed a new state of the art Mammography machine, from GE, the Senographe 700 T.  We are planning to have a screening programme for women.  Here also we will be offering a package.  Please wait for our official announcement.

Our association with Narayana Hrudayalaya continues to blossom and we thank them for their wholehearted cooperation.  The Cardiology OPD, runs 6 days a week with consultants from Narayana Hrudayalaya.  We also implant pace makers.  Our CCU has seven beds and is well equipped.  A theatre exclusively for open-heart surgery is getting ready.  We will keep you updated from time to time.

Our Nephrology Department is associated with Manipal Institute of Nephrology and Urology.  We offer dialysis, at subsidized rates and a low cost package for “related” kidney transplants.  We thank MINU for their continued help and patronage.

The C arm is proving a much needed aid for orthopedics  and complicated  procedures are performed.

We have declared our Hospital garbage free and bio-medical waste free on the first of January 2002.  Please let us all work together to ensure its success.

We have commenced computerization of the Hospital and presently the Accounts and Medical Records Department are on the LAN network.

LET US ALL STRIVE TO BRING BACK THE GLORY OF THIS GREAT AND GLORIOUS INSTITUTION.

More in my next, bye and good luck! – David P. Raju.
