EVENTS

110th Year Celebrations of the CSI Hospital, Bangalore.

We celebrated the 110th year since the foundation of our Hospital by conducting a Carnival on the 8th of November 2003 commencing with a Thanksgiving Service in our Chapel.  This was a day when all members of the various departments in the Hospital came together to put up Food Stalls, Games Stalls and an Entertainment Section for the Children.  The Carnival started at 10 A.M. with the cutting of the ribbon by our Chief Guest Dr. Mrs. Stella Samuel, Principal of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School.  The young children in the campus, below 10 years, were present to receive the Chief Guest along with the Conveners.

This is the time we collect funds from the proceeds of the Carnival, donations from well-wishers, donations from related institutions under the Karnataka Central Diocese and from our vendors and suppliers.

We also conducted a Lucky Draw on the 8th of November 2003 and we awarded the following prizes to the winners:

The response to our Lucky Draw was encouraging.

We are collecting funds to finance an Ultrasound Colour Doppler Machine for our Hospital.  This machine has completely revolutionized Ultrasound and Colour Doppler studies in our Hospital.  This equipment was very much required and has placed us, as one of the few hospitals with state-of-the-art facilities in Ultrasound Colour Doppler.

For the above two contributions we are extremely grateful and thank the donors wholeheartedly.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS

Children’s day was celebrated at our hospital on the 14th of November with the following two programmes.

Free Health Check-up Camp:

A free health check up was conducted for children. The children were examined for Heart diseases, Asthma, Dental problems, Eye and ENT problems and for other general pediatric problems. Apart from the pediatrician the camp included a Pediatric Cardiologist, Ophthalmologist, ENT Specialist and Dentist. Spirometry and Peak –Flow Meter Devices used to measure  lung functions were also available as part of asthma screening services.

Drawing Competition:

Conducted as a part of the Children’s Day Programme the competition which was held in the foyer of the hospital elicited an enthusiastic response from the children. About thirty children from the nearby schools took part in the event. The children were given a choice of themes from which to select the subject for their drawing. The work was judged by a panel of four judges. Miss. Deepika Reddy and Miss Shanaz were declared joint winners. The third prize was awarded to Syed Zakaullah.  Ten consolation prizes were also given away.

The hospital wishes to thank the pharmaceutical companies, namely Eli Lily and Protek for sponsoring the art material and prizes and Sun Pharma for providing the instruments for asthma screening.

SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

The N.C.C. Students of the Bishop Cotton Girls School under the supervision of Mr. Aaron, conducted a Tree Planting Programme in the Hospital grounds on Saturday the 22nd of November 2003, by planting seven rose plants and many other plants.  They also helped in cleaning up the garden.  Dr. Mrs. Stella Samuel visited our Hospital to start the programme and spent valuable time with us.  We are grateful to the management of the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School for conducting this Awareness Programme “Save the Environment”, despite the hectic school programmes and studies in preparation for their exams.  We wish good luck to all the programmes of the N.C.C. in Bishop Cotton Girls’ School.

WE WISH YOU ALL A BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
